Should we be expecting a lot of shirtless Lam Lam this season? Khloe and Lamar pose together for this hot promo shot.
First things first: Khloe & Lamar already seems like better TV than Kourtney and Kim Take New York. Agreed? We could be wrong, but within the first 10 minutes there were better quotes, more real-life conflict and drama, and lots of PDA! Yay! Not that we need to figure out which is a better show — it’s not a contest — we’re just saying. The opening titles of K & L are cheesy (SO cheesy), but that aside, it looks to be a great season!

Right away, we’re introduced to Malika, Khloe’s bff and assistant, and Jamie, Lamar’s best friend who he met at basketball camp when he was 13. And Rob, of course, who’s living with the couple while he gets his “music career” off the ground. But what Rob does day-to-day remains to be seen.

Malika gives Khloe her weekly schedule: book signing, save dinner time for Kris, and “make lots of love on Friday because you’re ovulating!” Whee! (“When it comes to sex, I like to pop off spontaneously,” Lamar jokes. Um, ew?)

When Lamar is on the road for an extended period of time, she tries to join Lamar at some point — and she does in this episode. The two are enjoying strawberries and champagne in their hotel room when Lamar’s phone rings: it’s his father, Joe. His father, Lamar reveals, is a heroin addict who abandoned him when he was a boy. He doesn’t want to get the phone; Khloe urges him to, but Lamar puts his foot down. Clearly, Khloe does not understand the irrevocable damage Joe has done. He explains to Khloe that when it comes to Joe (who he calls ‘Joe’ and not ‘dad’), he needs to call the shots. Khloe agrees, somewhat reluctantly.

Khloe then joins her sisters Kim and Kourtney at a book signing and is informed that Joe has come to meet her unannounced. She’s shocked and feels extremely awkward, but is impressed that Joe is seemingly nice guy who wants nothing more than Lakers tickets and some contact with his son. She tells him she will get him some. When Lamar gets a wind of that, he’s not happy. He tells Khloe she must break her promise. Khloe says that she feels weird lying, but Lamar says all Joe did was lie to him. “I remember what he used to say to me,” Lamar says poignantly. “‘I’ll be back’.”

Khloe still won’t back off. She seems to think that she can create a father/child bond much like the bond she had with her father, Robert Kardashian, Sr. (who passed away in 2003 of cancer.) She insists on trying to capture something that was lost, so she continues to try to unite Lamar and Joe.

February 18 was just another Friday night spent at a basketball game for Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom... except this time the two were seated courtside together. The adorbs couple cheered on Khloé’s brother Rob as he played in the 2011 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. Step-dad Bruce and half-sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner all showed up to support Rob too. Aw, nothing like Kardashian family love and basketball!
Finally, Lamar calls Joe on speaker phone to prove a point and Khloe begins to get it. All Joe does is ask for Lakers tickets, say he’s out of food, and beg Lamar to send more money. It slowly dawns on Khloe that there is not much in the relationship between Joe and Lamar that is salvageable.

Meanwhile, Khloe embarks on a semi-obnoxious mission to get Lamar All-Star votes. She even tweets that if people vote and can prove it, she and Rob will personally call them — and she does. (One fan weeps on the phone.) She tells everyone that Lamar needs to make the All-Star team. He ultimately doesn’t, and is visibly bummed about it. Khloe continues to yap about it 'til Lamar basically tells her to shut it.

Rob announces that he’s playing at the 2011 NBA All-Star Game and asks Khloe and Lamar if they’ll go. Lamar reminds him that they’ll be in Mexico for four days, and Rob has a bit of a diva moment and storms off. In the middle of the basketball game, Khlomar show up anyway, and Rob is obviously psyched.

Judging from the season’s trailer, we’re going to witness a lot of tension between Lamar’s friend Jamie and Khloe; lots of girl-crazy Rob’s antics (including a little tryst with Malika!), and lots of lovin’ between Khloe and Lamar!

We’re so excited! Are you?
