Vanessa Hudgens thinks it's important for young people to watch a wide variety of films.The Beastly actress spoke to nationwide educational charity and experts in films for youths - FILMCLUB - about the importance of teens broadening the choice of movies they watch and checking out different genres.
"Watching a wide range of films gives you more knowledge," said the 22-year-old.
"It opens your eyes to different aspects of life that you probably wouldn’t normally ponder yourself.
"It’s an amazing creative outlet, it allows you to inspire your mind and think about different things…it’s a getaway. Watching movies is an amazing escape from your present. It allows you to kind of be free."
When it comes to what makes a good teen film - Hudgens admits she's a sucker for a soppy chick flick. Well what do you expect from the star of the High School Musical movies and Beastly!
