i you use a 3G, don't even bother. It stutters and is pretty much unplayable during high note sections. I'll load it on my iPad and give it a try later. Seems fun, will probably enjoy it with a new iPhone 4 when I get one.

Apple almost doubled their units sold and markershare drop. Profits are up so I'm guessing it's not a big deal for Apple.

Tap and hold on the question mark you want to see. A dialog should pop up for 'open in' then choose photos if it is a picture, if it is a different type of file such as a PDF either iBooks or another app that you use for those.

So I applied for Apple Retail about a week ago, not really expecting to hear anything for months. Turns out a hiring manager got back to me asking some questions and then soon after I was invited to a hiring event here in San Diego. I applied for Specialist, Expert, and Genius.
My question: I'm a freshman in college here. The Hiring Session is in a month. If I get a job at Apple, do they allow transfers, or would I not be scheduled when I return to the Bay Area in mid-May? I saw that for Genius they have training, and I heard that the training can be done online?
Thanks in advance!

I downgraded my iPhone 3G back to 3.1.3 before giving it away.i already sold my 3G and upgraded to a 3GS - caught a $250 deal on craigslist.
iPhone 3G running iOS4 was worse than running 3.1.3 on my iPhone 2G.
graph is interesting, even if it's not entirely accurate - there was a stat a few years ago which stated that most people didn't know how to update their iPhone/iPod Touches. i never understood that, i haven't upgraded to 4.0.1 yet, and i'm constantly getting nagged to upgrade by iTunes.

I'm planning on purchasing the new iPod touch sometime this week, and I want to get a new case to go with it. However, how can I get one that will fit the new model? Not only is it thinner, but it has that camera, which most current cases will cover up, and possibly even scratch. Any ideas?

"I guess my concern is with the unfamiliarity with the structure of the backup folder itself. Leaves me wondering what may happen if/when technology fails and this becomes corrupt for something."
This is EXACTLY why I recommend to others that they DO NOT use Time Machine for backups.
Time and time and time again -- right here on Macrumors -- I read postings of the essence, "help, my hard drive crashed, and I'm trying to access my Time Machine backup, and it won't mount, etc., etc."
If they had used one of the "clone" backup utilities that create bootable backups in POFF (plain ol' finder format), they wouldn't be posting those messages. They'd be up and running in a matter of minutes.
But because of the way TM "packages" its backups, there can be problems in "moments of extreme need". And we see the results right here on Macrumors.
TM gives the illusion of making backups simple, easy, and "automatic", and, as far as that goes, it does. It's EASY to "backup" with Time Machine.
What can be DIFFICULT is trying to ACCESS those backups later on when the user is beset with all kinds of problems.
Yes, it takes more effort and forethought when you use CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper as you backup tool. BUT -- when things have gone all to h*** and you're wondering what to do next, they make it blindingly EASY to get restarted. TM does not.
That's the difference.

How in the world did this happen?
I was trying to send to trash the final clips of an event and then imoive crashed. when I started it up again there were no longer any clips at all in the events folder.
In the imovie video cache however are lots of files, including a quicktime file that plays the full event, but with no sound.
How can I put this movie back together again in imovie? help!!

Hi
I am search for a non-cloud alternative to befunky.com Cartoonizer. I wish to generate a cartoons/comics from an image and/or movie.
What software do you recommend me? Great would be Open Source or free.

Not really sure what my opinion is. I can imagine there being quite a lot of users who would use the separate subforum if it was launched but there is always the issue of perhaps having too many subforums or it being filtered too finely when it could all belong in one section, for instance.
They can't produce complete and useful sentences in the iPhone forums either yet those still exist.
The majority of people here are geeks, and geeks like science.
That's a good counterpoint.

This is the version with the full number pad and acrylic back. In very good shape with no noticeable wear on the front. Some light wear on the back, but its friggin' acrylic so what do you expect :D
$35 is my price, and it seems pretty fair for a great bluetooth keyboard. PayPal accepted and shipping is included in that figure.

I think we all need to remember that this is just some sort of App Store preview, backported into the current OS. In Loin, it'll be more integrated than it is now, and as such, will likely be much smarter.
Additionally, I fairly sure that the people who wrote the App Store app are using Xcode, and are quite aware of this issue. So, you gotta know that this is a known issue for them as well. They won't fix it, because it'll be fixed in Lion.

Hello. Just ordered the iPad 2. When I tried out the original iPad, I felt uncomfortable holding it for even a few minutes. I felt like the iPad was going to break my fingers. (I am a bit exaggerated!) Although the iPad 2 is lighter, I should look for a holder/case that allows me to hold the device comfortably. Any recommendation? Thanks.

Saying that CD is a rip off of GTA is just ignorance.
I said copy, and it is - even more so than Lair being a "Rogue Squadron meets Panzer" ripoff.
For every one intelligent post here there are about a dozen ignorant ones.........
Because of the success of the Grand Theft Auto series, notably Grand Theft Auto III and subsequent games, several other developers have attempted to replicate GTA's driving/shooting formula and open-ended sandbox play.
replicate or copy
6 or half dozen
Lets not argue semantics

This (http://aperture.maccreate.com/2010/07/30/share-libraries-between-aperture-users-and-use-dropbox-to-simplify/) should get you started. Just export the folders/projects/albums that you want to keep, choose a "master" and merge them all back together.
Or...
You could just restore from your vault or Time Machine. That would likely be much faster.

I've been watching the rescue on and off over the past day, seeing them cramped into that capsule and imagining what it must be like going up through all that rock; it gives me the creeps. Not good with tight spaces, as it were.
Somehow I think that would be easy compared to being stuck a half mile underground for 70 days.

Depends on your situation - common wisdom is that a tripod can only have 2 of the following characteristics: sturdy, light, cheap.
Maybe you want to take a look here: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=847990
