I do all my sites in Drupal (http://drupal.org/) now and have found the ubercart (http://www.ubercart.org/) module to be one of the best ecommerce solutions. Drupal's theming is very simple for anyone who already knows web development, just html, css and php and there are lots of plugins available to accomplish all sorts of features.

thanks all. I'm aware of the apple refurbs (my mini and macbook are refurbs. its a great way to save some cash!)
Thanks for the advice all. iLife is definitely required so I think he will just go for a standard version
thanks again
I don't think it's worth it. If you're going to raid1 the drives in the server you'll only be getting 500gb of usable space (- the space used for applications and OS-X). For the $200 saved over the server edition you'd be well on your way to a Drobo style storage solution, or even cheaper, the OWC Mercury Elite dual enclosure which you could use for Raid1 storage anyway.
Unless you have to have OS-X server - save your shekels.

Don't think of a job interview just in terms of skills and knowledge. Try and put yourself in the head of the manager who will be your boss. The ideal candidate would be someone super smart, helpful etc... but a manager's fears when they interview are:
- the new recruit will need a load of supervision
- they will do or say something costly or embarrassing
- they will undermine the team, or fail to work with others in a positive and helpful way
So while you're answering questions and showing off your knowledge, also throw in stuff which will reassure that you're 'not that guy'.

I have a samsung t-809 with t-mobile as my provider. video-out, and the ability to customizable the four way keys (to something other then what they do out of the box) are disabled on the phone, along with a few other features (like the ability to ring and vibrate simultaneously... how silly!). So maybe they don't cripple them to the extent of other carriers, but they certainly still cripple them.
Well, you got unlucky... my Moto v180 and v360 are both un-crippled, and I can customize my soft keys at top level, and the four-way button. I'd check into that with CS.

IAnyway, my point is to do not underestimate Zune. It's a very good software, modern. It's just that Microsoft is ..well..not very good with marketing I guess..
They seem to have done well with the XBox...

BBC news just ran a story on workers of a Taiwanese factory that make the touch screens used in iPhones. It looks like the company was using a chemical in place of alcohol that evaporated more quickly and so speeded up the production of touch screens (maybe under pressure to resolve the yellow residue issue with early IP4s??). The workers have reportedly written directly to Apple now for help on the matter.

So I would love some great 1440x900 wallpapers of Japan (country and temples mostly, city stuff would be nice as well though) but all I can find are the few on interfacelift.
Anybody have a good one?
Thanks : )

What about the Cisco AnyConnect app? I keep reading old news how it'll be released when iOS 4 is - so where is it? I want this but can't find it in the app store. Or is it something your network admin has to get from Cisco and install for you?

Well that's kinda hypocritical posting in an Apple forum. Apple tries 100x harder to prevent users from jailbreaking than Android\Manufacturers do try to prevent rooting\modding.
i agree they do seem to try harder. i dont think of it as me being hypocritical ( or maybe it is? :) ). i just hold android to a higher standard... it's supposed to be about openness... that's what i feel google intended. if i'm going to get one (which i probably will eventually) i want to be able to do what i want with it without the manufacturer/provider on my back

I really like the idea of this app. If it is executed right, this can be big. Just imagine buying a Mac mini, hooking it up to your TV and stereo and be able to watch movies, listen to music, or browse your pictures.
Great idea. I have an older Mac and I would love to make it work with this application and setup.

It's saying it on both iTunes & the phone, so would this be some sort of horrific software coincidence or a hardware fault do you reckon?
did you already try to restore as new phone?

I just ordered myself one of OWC's wicked new 6G SSDs, plus an optical drive bay adapter so I can put the stock rotating hard drive in place of the optical drive for extra storage.
I want to have a portable USB optical to take along in the bag when I'm doing repairs, though, and it seems like a waste to buy a brand new one and shelve the pull from my MBP in case of warranty repair. So I wanted to get a USB enclosure for it, preferably bus powered.
You can get one from MaxUpgrades for $25; they sell it as part of a kit with an optical drive bay adapter, but since I got one from OWC I'd just be ordering the drive case:
http://www.maxupgrades.com/istore/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_ID=186
...but once you add shipping you're looking at over $30, which is basically the price of a whole external. Has anybody bought one of those cases, and if so, was it nice enough in terms of build quality to be worth $30?
An alternate would be this Syba brand one from Newegg, which would end up being about $23 shipped:

Anybody by any chance tried that one? Other recommendations for a case for a slot-loading slim optical?
You need to get case that is made for slot loading optical drives. If you don't the problem is there is nothing to protect the disc when it comes out of the drive from scrapping the bottom of the drive. Will it work in the case? Yes. Will it look good? No. Personally I would just buy an external disc drive considering how cheap they are.
Cheers

Four stars.
This song is very dynamic and has a lot of elements.
The strongest points are the intro and the the bass or baritone guitar at the end, a very nice touch.
The use of restraint without launching into an extended Dragonforce or Joe Satriani showoff solo was a good move. The prudent use of double bass on the drums was good as lesser bands would over do the double bass drum beat.
The background vocals added a good touch as I thought the lead singer was a little weak, thus my overall rating being 4 stars instead of 5.

I personally dislike the invisible shield. Firstly, the application proves to be fairly tough. Beyond that, it provides good protection, but it ruins the screen feel. It has a very tacky feeling. Check out Steinhell (sp?) and Clairvue screen protectors. And get a case for the back.

Nonsense. Pages is perfectly capable of serving as a everyday word processor outside of "consumer" environment, and Keynote whacks the poop out of PowerPoint for presentations.
And if you need to use those pages or keynote projects at work or in school?

I think he means you can add a new entry into 1Password with your serial numbers etc.. Not to archive email.
You can drag the email with serial number into the 1Password entry and it will store that email for reference.
It's not for archiving all emails, but it's nice to be able to keep the original email with your 1Password entry.

Try %escape-coding your string (there is a method in NSString for doing this).
