I have read that. But sorry, they aren't losing iPad holiday sales due to the iPad x+1 coming the next spring. Most people aren't that in tune, and when they get xmas gifts, they're happy to have a $500-700 gift, they're not worried that it will upgraded in a few months. The display doubling is not realistic nor is it necessary for 2011. Apple has already jumped ahead of the Android market with the iPad 2 and will keep a comfy lead this year. Look at how hard it is to get one. They haven't even been able to ship internationally yet. And they are still weeks out on US orders. They won't be coming out with a Pro, HD 2.5 or 3.0 iPad this year.
Having an April release cycle make fine sense for them.

I see Adobe are doing what Quark used to do, upgrade and charge mega bucks for it. Despite Adobe saying they wouldn't do this (when they started out with InDesign) they have gotten greedy.

The white macbook (with a screen) is a 2010 unibody white MacBook. the previous owner of it spilled coffee on it, got a new computer and gave me this one. It is my mom's new computer :D... I just havent given it to her yet... The MacBook Pro that you see in the picture is my own MacBook Pro that I paid for. The headless MacBook is a circa 2006 C2D macbook, which was also given to me. It had a dead screen, and apple quoted the previous owner an exorbitant amount, and decided that it would just be better to get a new macbook... I removed the screen, airport antennae, and isight from the display assembly. The isight is taped on to my wooden monitor stand, and the airport antennae are under the slide-out table where the headless MacBook is.

It doesn't seem silly to me at all. What is the point of upgrading...It certainly is silly. People UPGRADING to Vista, as you just said, aren't going to buy the full retail $399 box. That's stupid. They are going to buy the Upgrade or oem.
It's true that retail box upgrades are a small fraction of Windows sales, but this only goes to show how wary Windows users are of upgrading, and that the vast majority will only buy into the newest version of Windows when it comes pre-installed on a new PC -- IOW, when they have no other choice.
One of the many ironies here is that we're forever hearing about how Apple shafts their customers with high prices, but when Microsoft does it in an even more naked and obvious way, people fall all over themselves to excuse it. Now that's silly!I think M$FT completely sucks as a company. They are a necessary evil that I can deal with (just like many other corporations) and if they piss me off too much I will stop purchasing their products like I've done with other companies.
The problem with so many Mac appologists is that they are incapable of having an honest debate. You and snowy could rightly argue against the $259 upgrade price of Vista Ultimate or the ~$180 OEM price of Vista ultimate but you don't. I hope they eventually make a 15" MacBook and a 13" MacBook Pro. I think they are in a good spot to expand the line-up to cover a larger base of consumers. They're not dummies, the iBook/PowerBook line-up was great.
And destroy the sales of the computers that they would be competing against in the line-up? Apple won't do it. That's why they're holding off as long on the MacBooks as possible.

Apple needs to step up to the plate with ios5. The iPhone as it is, is good enough for most punters. Tweaking the hardware won't make a huge difference. Ipad2 a perfect example, nice upgrade but not essential. iOS is beginning to look a little dated and needs a major update rather than a few tweaks

The palm rest (which has already been replaced once) is chipping up from the corner. Its also lifting up from the left side next to the CAPS LOCK button. A few keys (shift and the arrows) are getting mushy. The screen bezel is coming off from the right side. The top of it is chipping off as well.
There are also hairline cracks where the heat is released. Finally the bottom of the thing is heat discolored very dark.
My wife has a new unibody Macbook and the build construction is so much better than my old whitebook.

In Brazil any import has about 80% in taxes. That is the way to industrialize the country and make people and companies build the products "in house".

There's another temperature monitoring utility, called appropriately enough, Temperature Monitor. I switched to it after CoreDuoTemp was flaking out on me. So far, it's given me pretty reliable readings. Maybe you guys should try that.
I'm pretty sure readings of 15C-19C are incorrect. I've NEVER seen or heard of modern laptop/desktop CPUs running that cool.
The lowest readings I've gotten on my laptop, from memory, would be low to mid 40s. It usually idles at mid-50s.
With regards to "pushing the machine = shutdown"... that's only somewhat true. Making both cores 100% cpu usage has been a way to trigger the random shutdown, but that doesn't make it the cause. I've had plenty of situations where my MacBook was idling and just turned itself off...

The ios iPod app is an abomination. Even with my moderately sized(about 3000 songs, most are just vocab flash cards) the thing chokes on my 3gs and even a bit on 1g iPad. It takes seconds, yes SECONDS to respond to input, not to mention all the crashing. Even if they could make a 128gb iPod touch, I would shudder to think at how insanely slow the iPod app would be if you loaded that puppy up with music.
In my case it's adding ONE podcast to listen too before bed, then waiting forever as it sits there "updating" the library. I can sync and start to listen to it in the same time on my classic.

I just want the graphics card to be more than a lame 64MB. Every other manufacturer on the planet has at least 128 in their notebooks shared or otherwise.
I would buy a Macbook in a heart beat if they did that. Hell... With the money I'll save from buying a Macbook pro I might get two one black and one white.

I really want to see how Leopard is going to turn out. There has been so much hype surrounding WWDC, I really hope WWDC is as good as everyone rumors it to be.

MP is really a myth. The single biggest factor for the image quality of a sensor is the sensor size. Assuming image processing and sensor technology are roughly of the same generation, a large 4 megapixel sensor will beat the crap out of a phone camera with 8 megapixel sensor except resolution testing under good lighting. And most people just don't need that much resolution.
The Nokia N8 was an exception because they went for a huge(relatively speaking) sensor that was as large as the top of the line P&S like the Canon G series cameras. However with the physics involved you have to pay the price through the added thickness. I highly doubt anyone other than Nokia will take a gamble like that.

Well, this is one of those areas where we disagree on the historical evidence and the interpretation. I don't see evidence in the old testament that would support the view that it was written to support polytheism or that it was a re-writing of polytheistic accounts with the goal of popularizing monotheism.The god El was the chief of the elohim in Canaan. He is mentioned by name in the Old Testament. Several kings and patriarchs named their sons after him. The "War in Heaven", of course, is the "historical" account of El casting down all the other gods, and establishing his own primacy. The other elohim were retained in the form of angels. Notice how many angels' names end in "-el"?
Sure, there is description of the polytheistic cultures of the Canaanite people, the Egyptians, and other people of that time, but the overarching story of God's revelation to man is unified starting with God's establishment of the covenant with Abraham. El's covenant with Abraham.
Now, God's people were not always faithful to him. In fact the entire story of the nation of Israel is one of God attempting to unify his chosen people and their repeated failure to be consistently true to him. Even King Solomon who built the temple, fell away later in life, as he become open to idol worship.Revisionism. The story of the Old Testament is a story of a couple of polytheistic nations. The prophets are constantly bemoaning the polytheism of the people. Those which did not bemoan it were presumably not included in the canon.

3D springboard and maybe limited access api's to enable it in 3rd party apps. iOS5 will also be bringing more OSX features like Lion is getting more iOS features. ;-)

The things you mention here are exactly the things i've seen too. To be honest, it frustrates me to see men behave like that. They should send those guys to boot cam, to let them get back some of their balls.
