Although she’s not yet out and proud at McKinley High, Glee’s Santana is a strong lesbian character on a hit show dedicated to encouraging self-acceptance and compassion. Thanks to her character’s growing role, Naya Rivera’s star is also on the rise. The latest proof? The actress has been tapped to host the GLAAD Media Awards in San Francisco on May 14!
This year, the ceremony will pay special tribute to Sex and the City’s Kim Cattrall, who will receive the Golden Gate Award, which is “presented annually to media professionals who have increased the visibility and understanding of the LGBT community.”

At the end of February, Naya Rivera was spotted out in LA grabbing lunch with actress Emma Roberts. The adorable duo made their way down Melrose Avenue and into Blu Jam Cafe, where they met Naya's friend John, a crew member on Glee. Now we're not quite sure how these two gals know each other, but we think Heather Morris better watch out! Someone might be trying to steal her best friend!
