Kate Middleton's New Title Revealed

In less than one hour Kate Middleton will no longer be Kate Middleton. Not only will she be referred to by her former name, Catherine, but she also has a new title.

Catherine will be known as the Duchess of Cambridge, a new title from the Queen.

"The Queen has today been pleased to confer a Dukedom on Prince William of Wales. His titles will be Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus," Her Royal Highness's Press Secretary reported.

"Prince William thus becomes His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge, and Miss Catherine Middleton on marriage will become Her Royal Highness The Duchess ofCambridge."

The Duke of Cambridge has been a royal title since the reign of Charles II in the 1600s.

When The Queen passes away, Prince William will become the Duke of Cornwall. Once Prince Charles settles into the throne, William will then be Prince of Wales to William.
