Manufacturing build wealth, generate revenue and helps a nation defend itself in time of war, we have shipped most of that overseas. So what happens when we have to go to war on a world scale? The U.S has been protecting Taiwan for several years and what have the done for the U.S? Nothing!

It's not the cost it's the size. I have two aging 12" powerbooks (rev a and c). The whole point of a laptop, sorry notebook, for me is the small size.
I am listening when you say the black isn't a good finish. I'm holding off my buy for a while yet :)
OK, I hear you. Seriously then, the white MacBook is a great machine. It's light-grey inside if that makes any difference to you ;)
But if you don't need a new laptop right now, it's always better to wait. Lucky for you that Macworld SF is just around the corner and something new always gets announced. I'd be surprised though if these laptops see any changes then though. The next update will be nearer summer 2007 I reckon, when Intel start shipping the 800Mhz bus Merom updates with Santa Rosa.

Well, I have a 15"PB, A1148, and serial of battery is 3K537xxxx..., but it says no-go on website....

Slap a Core 2 Duo in it, bump it up to a 15 or 15.4 inch screen and watch it become Apples best selling notebook ever.

It probably has to do with the three20 project incident a couple of days ago. Basically some devs had their apps rejected because they were using three20 which had some private API calls.
That's pretty understandable then. Having not only your work but other devs work rejected because they used your library - that's your reputation at stake

Took them like over 2 years to get something as basic as MMS on "the world's most advanced phone", why would they care about flash?

Have you not understood a single post discussing the merits of Apple approving apps? The simple fact is that it is a good idea. Apple's execution is somewhat flawed and could certainly be improved.

it's feeling a bit repetitive.
I would assume that once you got through the blatant copy&paste areas used to make the original Halo SP longer you would have realized that was par for the course ;)

If they both need a Zune to share the music i'm sure both have there own earbuds, the girl or boy can use there own earbuds so there's no body fluids being shared and it works between an iPod and a Zune and all the rest. Wifi sharing is useless.

My point is, the ping-pong effect, when it was used, was deliberate. It does sound strange now, but I remember when these albums came out people listened to them on headphones and thought the effect was cool.
I'm no Beatles historian by any means, but correct me if I'm wrong: weren't the first albums recorded in mono? The stereo versions were later, rather crude simulations of stereo, which is why they never made it to CD.

They recorded on 4-track or 8-track mixers and overdubbed tracks to create layers (revolution #9 being a very famous example of this). In those days, it was pretty standard. Hard to believe, but Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen was also recorded this way. Apparently they did so much overdubbing and re-recording as they attempted to perfect the song that they wore out the tape and had to start over once.

It's a bit of a cross post, but in the "Waiting for Arrandale" thread a member mentioned going to their local Apple store to buy a MBP and the sales associate mentioned that there was a big box in back and apparently some new SKUs popped up in the system. Thought you might want to know...
So I got sick of waiting on Apple to update the MBP, so I headed down to Delaware to pick one up. While I was there, one of the sales people told me that there was some box in the back, and she really thinks it is the updated ones. She also said about some new SKUs that she saw.
I'm not sure if she knows what she is talking about, but she said she bought a MBP about a month or two ago and is sad she didn't wait because she didn't know they were updating.
It seemed pretty promising, so I figured I'd pass it along.
I have 14 days to return this one and exchange it for a new one if that does happen Tuesday :)
